What an FRP surface system is

FRP, or Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic, combines fiberglass reinforcement with high-performance resins to form durable protective panels. The smooth, non-porous surface is suited to facilities where cleanliness, moisture resistance, chemical resistance and easy maintenance are important.

The panels resist water, humidity, stains, many cleaners and industrial chemicals, everyday impact and frequent washing. These characteristics make FRP a practical alternative to conventional wall and ceiling finishes in demanding operational spaces.

Wall and ceiling duties are connected—but different

FRP wall systems protect vertical surfaces in food processing plants, pharmaceutical facilities, hospitals, commercial kitchens and industrial facilities. In addition to moisture and chemical resistance, wall areas may need protection from carts, equipment and everyday impacts.

FRP ceiling systems address overhead surfaces exposed to humidity, frequent washing, cleaning chemicals and strict hygiene requirements. Typical environments include cleanrooms, food-processing areas, healthcare facilities, cold rooms and other controlled spaces.

A coordinated installation sequence

The process starts by reviewing the facility, hygiene requirements, exposure, cleaning procedure and material needs. A site inspection then evaluates the substrate, preparation needs, installation method, joints and accessories.

After selecting the suitable panels, finish, adhesives, profiles and accessories, the substrate is cleaned, levelled, inspected and repaired. Panels are fitted with the chosen components, and the completed work is checked for alignment, joints, adhesion, appearance and overall workmanship.

Plan for cleaning and maintenance

FRP should be cleaned with suitable non-abrasive cleaners. Chemical residues should be removed promptly, and joints, sealants and accessories should be inspected periodically.

Maintenance planning begins during specification: the expected sanitation products, frequency of washing, moisture and impact exposure should all be clear before panels and details are selected. That alignment helps the installed system support the real routine of the facility.
